djFlippy Fires Shots

Austin Texas has a long standing healthy electronic music scene including a wide range of genres. Including a plethora of downtempo artists that put on some of the best chill out shows I’ve ever scene.

From this great pool of artists it’s my pleasure to introduce to Waxhole, for the first time, djFlippy (Soundcloud, Bandcamp). He just released his latest EP, Enemy Shot, and it’s a five track journey of old school trip-hop with nu-school sounds. Each song has it’s own unique blend of synths that may remind you of drum n bass, acid house, or trap, but are instead wrapped into smooth jazzy breakbeats. The album is space-themed and represents sequences of events that have occurred thru time when humans interact with alien beings.

My personal favorite track off the album is djFlippy’s collaboration with fellow Texas artist DigisplaT (Soundcloud), “Aftermath”. This EP also includes a Dubby UK Garage remix of the title track “Enemy Shot” by OneLove (Soundcloud) and album art by the 3D artist Eli Sassenhagen (Portfolio). All of this available at Bandcamp for a name your price download.
