Falcon’s Debut Birdcall EP Is Here!

Falcons BirdcallFalcons is a master of r&b sampling, grabbing clips from all spectrums of that 90’s and 2000’s goodness and flipping them into bass tunes that sit well beyond the single-genre spectrum. His debut EP “Birdcall”, released through HW&W Recordings continues his blazing streak of familiar sampling and refreshingly unique song structures, creating a musical experience that is both new, yet familiar.

Birdcall EP is available now here on bandcamp and will also see a limited vinyl release, which you can preorder here (I know I am!). You can also keep up with Falcons on twitter and facebook to stay posted with his news and updates.

The ep begins with a Falcons Eye (Reprise), a remake of an earlier Falcon’s release that’s gone through some tweaks, polishing, and a remaster. It’s a serious head-nodder with lots of reverb, delayed synths, and wetness underneath Mary J Blige cuts from “Be Happy.” Take advantage of the relaxed vibes and consider it a warm up for what’s to come. Stretch!

“Be Quiet” is a heater, immediately winding up into an intense beat that was made to twerk to. In come the Ying Yang Twins samples and bubble pops making this tune one that I can’t wait to hear and see go off in a club.

The next tune is a rump shaker as well. “Cell”, also Falcons’ personal favorite song from the EP, features samples from Missy Elliot and lush synth lines with some dirty banging drums on the side.

Falcons winds it down with “2me”, a sexy jam that pulls from Brandy & Monica’s “The Boy Is Mine” in a great way. The song is crafted from a selection of brass samples, chimes, and strings over an 808 bass that all wraps up in the flutters of a bird flying away from the scene.

So don’t sleep on the limited vinyl release and check out the download here in the meantime. You can find Falcons on Twitter and Facebook to show him some love as well.
