ill-esha Givin Us The Whiplash So Good

ill-esha is a name that is synonymous for bass, glitch, synthy melodies and fantastic vocals interspersed throughout her production.  ill-esha, now based out of Denver has dropped this opus of an album on Gravitas Recordings (HERE) and it’s a testament to her prowess at all things groovin.  ill-esha was one of the artists that brought me into the glitch/bass/crunk scene years ago and it’s been an absolute blast following her progress throughout that time.

Also, if you’re SXSW bound, she will be playing a few showcases, the one we’re co-sponsoring with a bunch of great people being one of them on Monday the 11th (more info HERE).  Sharing the stage with acts like Kill Paris, Knight Riderz and gLAdiator it will be great to see her special brand of crunkin bass funk turn the heads and provide the soundtrack that everyone will be having a blast to as the party rages on.

I was going to highlight every track and wax poetic upon the redeeming qualities and compare it to another great tune, but really, these tunes are all so damned good they don’t need me and my annoying prose ruining things.  My advice is to listen the whole way through and accept that the album not only is worth the listen but worth the download.  And contributing to the cause just makes so much sense.  We need more ill-esha and if offering a few coppers for this, her first full-length album is all it takes, sign me up!  This album bangs from Track 1 to track 11, and once you’re through, ice down the neck, rest the back, get a swig of some Gatorade and stretch out those hamstrings, because you will be going in again on another play through.

So get at this album (HERE), and follow ill-esha (Soundcloud, Facebook) and show her some love.  Also check out her tour stops.  She’s on the go quite a bit this Spring so if she’s stopping through your town, seeing her is paramount to keeping your Bass Head Status card.
