DJ’s Mixin The Goodness

It’s late…or early, but this seems to be the prime time when I get immersed in the DJ mixes of those artists I follow.  So in paying it forward in a blog sense, how about I send along a few I have been vibeing to lately and one that has just come out from a local favorite of mine.

So without further ado, have at some of these sets!

Left/Right – Live from F U T U R E at Elm Street by Left/Right

The first mix comes to us from fellow Dallas resident, Left/Right (Soundcloud, Facebook), whom I’ve been following for awhile now. This one is a precursor to a regularly scheduled night at a local venue, aptly named F U T U R E. Featuring the sounds found in this set and Left/Right at the decks as well as others from the area, this looks to be one great recurring event. This mix features some really great and somewhat underground artists such as Koreless, Shlohmo and Kastle but features so much more, some of which I’ve never heard, in just 30 short minutes.

Afro Monk – Future Love by Afro Monk

This next mix is from fellow blog brother and DJ AfroMonk (Soundcloud, Facebook). This mix is of the slower tempo, and more sexytime of the genres and I really really dig it. Featuring tracks from our very own Chilled Wax compilation (Sid Pattni, and Moodprint, to be exact)as well as some other great tunes, this mix is sure to set the mood or just get you goin’ in those times between sleep-raging-work.

The Ripe Guest Mix with Twinsy by TheRipe

The next one is from Twinsy (Soundcloud, Facebook), who did a mix for a Melbourne based blog.  Twinsy, an indie dance duo out of Ballarat, Australia, just west of Melbourne (thanks Google Maps!) put together this eclectic mix that while it is more of a polyglot of genres than what we usually post, it has been running on my playlist quite frequently.  Featuring tracks as varied as Star Slinger, Grimes, TNGHT and Frank Ocean this 44 minutes is chock full of goodies.  Click HERE for tracklist and HERE for the download.

Adult Lullabies by that african

The final mix is from a dude from Vancouver by way of South Africa, named That African (Soundcloud, Facebook). This mix features a lot of our favorites from guys like Robot Koch, Two Inch Punch and one of my favorites but very quiet, Atu. This ones good for when you’re winding down, or recovering gently from a rager from the night before.
